Passing my test at 17 was really great, i was the first of my friends to do so. What I didn't realise was the costs involved with driving. Trying to compare all of the motor trade insurance online quote systems was proving rather difficult as I didn't understand what all the different things were and I was to stubborn to ask my parents. My dad was so smug about driving, lecturing me on how long he had been driving, never had an accident, blah blah blah. I just switch off and hopefully nod my head at the right time.

My mum had told me to go on a compare price website to get motor trade insurance online quote and I would be able to see which company is the cheapest but what was the difference between the companies and price, I just didn't understand and it was so expensive.

So, I went out uninsured.

Iknew I would be alright, I was careful after all. As the only driver, we went everywhere in my car, none of my friends knew I was uninsured. They didn't know.

Iremember driving along late one night when I saw a blue flashing light following. Instead of stopping, I panicked and put my foot down. This just meant I was chased by the place. After my friends pleaded I pulled over and told them I had no insurance. The police arrived before they could reply.

Sitting in the back of the police car going through my details I told them i was insured, I got a motor trade insurance online quote and did it through the internet. What I didn't know was that it is all computerised and they knew I had no insurance. I got a lecture and points on my licence, then a free ride home in the police car to tell my parents. My car was to be impounded until I got insurance.

My parents went ballistic, couldn't believe how naive I had been. My mother sat down with me and together we got the motor trade insurance online quote and took up the best offer. Then I could pick my car up.

At the police impound I was charged £265.00 for the privilege o them minding my car. i couldn't believe it. But at least we were all safe. I never really thought of the implications of not having insurance until I had yet another lecture from my dad, but, I can say I have learnt my lesson. I will always insure my car in future.
